Volunteer business mentor scheme

Opportunity Bromley, in partnership with Bromley Council, is launching a Volunteer Business Mentor Scheme to connect experienced professionals with local entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses who would benefit from free practical advice, guidance and encouragement. 

We are keen to identify key individuals to participate in the scheme as follows: 

1. Mentors to assist local businesses to grow 

2. Mentees looking for expert guidance to grow

Are you a business owner, entrepreneur, retired professional or specialist with valuable experience to share? - Then, why not join the Opportunity Bromley/Bromley Council Volunteer Business Mentor Scheme and help local businesses start, grow and succeed. 

By volunteering as a Business Mentor just a couple of hours or so each month, you can help local businesses overcome challenges, seize opportunities and contribute to a stronger and more resilient local economy 

Why Become a Mentor? 

• Give back to the local business community 

• Support entrepreneurs and small businesses 

• Expand your professional network 

• Develop your mentoring and leadership skills, including opportunities for certification 

• Help create jobs and economic growth 

Time commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per month over 6 months. 

2. Mentees seeking expert guidance to grow 

Running a business can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. Whether you are starting out, looking to grow, navigating uncertainty or planning your next steps; we strongly encourage you to register as a Mentee on this valuable scheme.  

Your dedicated Mentor can provide independent advice, practical insights, encouragement and valuable connections base on real-world experience. 

Mentors Can Help With: 

• Business planning 

• Sales and marketing 

• Finance and cashflow 

• Leadership and management 

• Growth and expansion 

• Building networks and opportunities 

Time commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per month over 6 months
